Effective Ways to Integrate Technology into ELA instruction![]() There are so many resources and strategies nowadays to incorporate technology into ELA instruction. There are so many different website available today that allow for online practice when it comes to vocabulary, letters, and etc like PBS Kids, Starfall, and ABCya. These website all provide students with practice and learning while also making it fun and engaging for students of all ages. Issues of Integrating Technology into Special EducationMore times than not, there are quite a few problems that a teacher could face when it comes to integrating technology into special education and one of those things are the inclusion requirements. Another issue teachers may face, and something I have seen assisting in the classroom I am in today, would have to be children with special needs becoming frustrated because they may be unable to use the technology effectively.
![]() Online courses are usually thought of as those with no in-person components so districts that are large usually adopt the policy that designates those classes as "all online". When designing an online model, you need to select that online model, design and document learning activities, create course space structure, create assignment materials, create assessment materials, create content presentation materials, create small group activities, create resource links and other materials, and decide on and signal the course path. Decisions that are made about the design of a course space are intertwined with decisions on how the course will be taught. This week, we designed our own course website through adding a weekly account onto the one we already have. For the most part it was pretty quick and simple, however, I had to delete and restart about 10 times because I couldn't get the layout to work correctly. I didn't have any other problems creating the graphics or links. I am glad we got to create one, though. It was great practice for when I finally have my own classroom. My Course Site ![]() I never knew that there were different software options out there for creating tests and rubrics for classroom use! I thought this project was extremely helpful and I will most definitely use both of these software materials once I have my own classroom! They were both extremely easy to. use and I didn't have any trouble using either of them. I think these will both be extremely helpful in the classroom because not only were both of these easy to use, they were also not to time consuming to put together either. With how busy teachers can be, these will come in handy because they don't take days to set up and you don't have to create your own templets either. My Test My Test Answers My Rubric ![]()
Chapter 7 goes into detail on the many ways to integrate the internet into the curriculum that is being used in the classroom. Flipped classroom models are a great instructional approach where the students are able to do different activities such as listen to or with lecture and/or demonstrations, and then come up to the class and use different hands-on methods to apply what they learn from the activity. This gives the students a flexible learning environment, a learning culture shift, and intentional content all at the same time. Teachers can also use things like Podcasts and Vodcasts to help involve and encourage children to learn. Both of these can be imported to a computer from a source which will allow digitized clips to be inserted into a multimedia package or uploaded to the Internet. for later use. Another way to use video for instructional use is through a screen-capture software like Camtasia. This allows recording one's on-screen activity along with audio descriptions, storing it as a digital file, and adding special effects. Teachers could use this to create their own interactive media to serve instructional purposes ranging from demonstration to assessment.
My Vocaroo Podcast Journey...
The program Vocaroo was extremely simple to use and will most likely be something I will use in the future considering it was so helpful! As soon as I pulled up the link, it went straight to the place where I needed to record. I didn't have to maneuver my way around the website or anything. I clicked record, and then click redo about 15 times. Once I was satisfied, I click save and the embedded code and download button were right there in plain sight, I didn't have to search for it at all. I really enjoyed doing this project and I am so glad I was introduced to Vocaroo because it will come in handy in my own classroom lessons!
